Sticking to your story works if you’re on trial. It is less effective if you are sticking to a story that keeps you stuck.
You know, like when your sixth-grade teacher told you you would never be successful, or when your mom said something when you were seven. As a grown adult, how is that story limiting your ability to move forward?
A better question is, how is that story serving you?
If it didn’t serve you, you would not be carrying it. Stories, habits, or addictions all serve a purpose until you decide they are no longer working for you.
“You don’t understand my past, or you wouldn’t say that.” That’s true, I don’t. But I do know that it is possible to reframe your story to allow you more control over your present and future.
This is the gift of hypnotherapy. It allows you to explore your story in a safe, relaxed, and confidential environment, gain new insights, and reframe a painful situation.
I had a client who revisited his so-called truths about himself because of something that was said to him when he was three years old. Through hypnotherapy, he was able to revisit where the belief started, what else was happening around him, and give context to the comment he could not have gleaned so young.
Ask yourself, how is your painful story serving you?
If you want to explore it together, I’m here for you.
