Over thee Top

Listening to Ash Ruize, counselor, spiritual poet, and actor, watching his appearance, I hear myself judge, “He is over the top.” “Go with him,” my soul replied.

I could tell that my expression, my resistance, my caution reflected that of my mother’s. I felt myself wearing her as I met with the familiar barrier of cynicism. My soul responded again, “Take her with you,” and so I did. And we became one and splashed into a warm bath of acceptance, understanding, and grace.

Meditation isn’t always deep, prolonged, surrounded by total stillness. This time, it was just about listening and accepting the words I was hearing and the images that flowed into my mind.

So much of what I do in my practice is simply paying attention to the messages without questioning their logic. It always leads to my or my client’s greatest good and highest purpose. Embrace the new, the unfamiliar, when it presents itself. Ignore the cynicism.

What harm could he do? None. And so, I indulged in a magical five minutes and a feeling that lasted for hours.

Can you let your guard down long enough to let Spirit in? If not, why not?

Spirit takes so many forms, all of them for your greatest good and highest purpose. Some may even look and speak like Ash Ruiz.

So be it. Blessed be and amen.
