Labor Day originated in the labor union movement, which advocated for better working conditions, fair wages, and improved labor laws during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The holiday demands that hard work be recognized as the asset that it is. It reminds me to reflect on my contributions and the hard work of others like my parents, grandparents, caring friends, coworkers, and clients.
So how is your work contributing to the betterment of yourself and others? Are you demanding to be recognized? If not, why not? You’re worth it!
At this, the unofficial end of summer, take a moment to look up from the grindstone and be recognized!
Sending you gratitude for your contributions.
Mary
