In astrology, the soul is represented by the rising sign.​​It is what we came here to become or learn to be more like. The goal is to learn to live into it.

My rising sign is Leo. As one astrologer put it, I came here to be the queen.

One way to interpret that is that I came here to be seen and heard. My goal is to not be ignored or dismissed. In my soul’s journey, I may not have been allowed to speak or felt hidden. Or maybe I am getting ready in this lifetime to learn to lead for a higher purpose in the future.​ Either way, it is part of this life’s plan.

When we ignore our rising sign, we live too much in our ego ​(sun sign)and internal emotions​ (moon sign). We can talk ourselves into or out of anything, especially if it makes us uncomfortable. What we miss is the challenge of becoming more.
